A Non-invasive Neurostimulation Device to Treat Alzheimer’s Disease
Cognito Therapeutics’ mission is to advance the field of neuromodulation to create novel therapeutics that improve the lives of patients living with neurodegenerative diseases. Cognito Therapeutics has developed an innovative treatment known as Gamma Wave Therapy, which involves the use of non-invasive neurostimulation techniques to precisely target and enhance gamma wave activity in specific regions of the brain. This is achieved through the application of external stimuli, such as light or sound, that are carefully calibrated to elicit gamma wave oscillations in the targeted brain areas. Cognito Therapeutics' Gamma Wave Therapy holds immense promise in addressing cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and attention deficit disorders.
THE BRIEF
We helped the team at Cognito Therapeutics develop the 2nd generation of Sensory Stimulation System that is more user-friendly and a marketable consumer product. We also collaborated together to give it future vision with new potential advancements integrated into the design. We have taken a deep dive into concept development, prototyping and usability testing, along with technical solutions for production.

THE PROCESS
The first generation of Sensory Stimulation Device consisted of several different off-the-shelf items that had been modified to serve its functions. We gathered the necessary components that were currently part of the system, along with new features that were in development. The challenge was to create a single unit that has various different features and also make sure the device is comfortable to keep on a patient's face for the entire duration of the clinical cycle.
